Americas Engagement Committee
The Americas Engagement Committee o
versees IAGA initiatives throughout the Americas region, working with the Board and the Executive Committee to further the Association’s purpose of “connecting expert advisors through shared experiences and education to influence the advancement of global gaming.” The Committee’s regional duties include:

  • Planning the Association’s participation and support of regional key industry events and conferences including G2E;
  • Determining and helping coordinate Best Practice Webinar topics;
  • Identifying additional opportunities for IAGA to extend its support of its members and the Americas gaming market;
  • Identifying potential new members who will strengthen and diversify IAGA’s industry representation; and
  • Helping identify and solicit new sponsorship targets.

         

BOB BOYLE, Chair, is a Senior Manager at EY with over 15 years of professional experience leading compliance work for digital and land-based casinos and sports books globally. Bob’s work focuses on regulatory compliance topics including financial crimes, fraud and responsible gaming. Bob has led teams in performing compliance program assessments, risk assessments, transactional and regulatory filing reviews, assisting counsel for clients in responding to investigations and inquiries and has served as an expert witness on gaming compliance matters.

         

ALI BARTLETT, a Shareholder with Greenberg Traurig, focuses her practice on gaming law, governmental affairs, and legislative lobbying. She regularly assists clients with regulatory compliance, administrative law, corporate matters, and licensing issues in the casino gaming, online gaming, sports betting, and lottery industries. Ali provides governmental affairs and lobbying services to clients within a wide variety of industries and also assists clients in election and political law matters. Ali works with clients across a wide spectrum anywhere the private sector meets government at the local, state, and federal levels.

         

SAM BASILE previously served as legal counsel to GeoComply Solutions just after its launch in 2012 and is now GeoComply's Vice President of Business Development for North American Gaming. Previously, Sam was an executive or gaming attorney with renowned gaming industry companies, such as Aristocrat Technologies, Aruze Gaming America, Bragg Gaming Group, Gaming Arts, LVDC, Mirage Resorts, NYX Gaming, Spin Games, and Zitro Gaming.

         

PAUL JENSON is co-chair of Taft’s Gaming industry group and works with clients in all areas of the gaming industry on licensing, acquisitions and dispositions, financing transactions, administrative hearings, compliance plans, internal investigations, and general corporate governance. He also works closely with state and local gaming regulatory agencies, and has significant experience drafting gaming law statutes, administrative rules, and policies. Paul has experience resolving gaming-related manners across a variety of jurisdictions, including the United States, Canada, and Europe.

         

ALFREDO LAZCANO is Chair of Lazcano Sámano, a law firm based in Mexico City. Alfredo counsels and represents several leading technology companies of the Gaming, Fintech, and Media Industries; most of his Clients are publicly traded companies and hold various regulatory licenses in the strictest jurisdictions over the world. In 2020, he was appointed by the Federal Mexican Government to assist as an Independent Gaming Expert on matters of national and international relevance. He is a frequent speaker and contributor on regulatory improvement, combat against illegal operations, corporate responsibility, protection of vulnerable individuals, as well as best practices and technical standards.  

         

PAUL WIERBICKI is the General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer of Rush Street Interactive and its subsidiaries, a leading online gaming and entertainment company that focuses on online casino and online sports betting in the U.S. and Latin American markets. He is also a member of RSI’s board of directors and its nominating and governance committee. Paul has been General Counsel of LAMB Capital Advisors (the management company for the investment partnerships funded by Neil Bluhm and his family) since 6/2015. Prior to joining LAMB, he served as Senior Counsel, Business and Legal at AbbVie Inc. and as a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, specializing in restructuring and debt finance.
