EMEA Engagement & Steering Committee
The EMEA Engagement and Steering Committee oversees IAGA initiatives throughout the EMEA region, working with the Board and the Executive Committee to further the Association’s purpose of “connecting expert advisors through shared experiences and education to influence the advancement of global gaming.” 

The Committee’s regional duties include:

  • Planning the Association’s participation and support of regional key industry events and conferences including ICE and SiGMA;
  • Determining and helping coordinate Best Practice Webinar topics;
  • Identifying additional opportunities for IAGA to extend its support of its members and the EMEA gaming market;
  • Identifying potential new members who will strengthen and diversify IAGA’s industry representation; and
  • Helping identify and solicit new sponsorship targets.




          JON DUFFY, Chair, is Senior Vice President, Corporate Assurance & Regulatory Affairs at Genting Casinos UK.  Jon is responsible for the Compliance, Security, Surveillance, Anti-Money Laundering and Safer Gambling Departments for Genting UK’s 30+ land-based Casinos.  Jon holds diplomas in both Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crime prevention, is a member of the Audit Committee for Genting UK, a trustee of the International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA), a non-executive Director of gordonmoody.org.uk/ and a member of the International Compliance Associations Global Practitioner Advisory board.





         

JESSICA MEIER, Co-Chair, is a founder of EGARA (Executive Gaming and Risk Advisory), a gaming consultancy firm specialized in providing C-level advice on regulation, licensing, risk-management, and compliance. Having been a partner in a law firm focused on gaming law and the Chief Risk Officer/Head of Legal and Compliance and Head of Government Affairs in gaming software companies, Jessica comes with both private practice and in-house experience and has worked on various projects and public policy initiatives in close collaboration with regulators, legislators and industry stakeholders. 

           


NINA HENNINGSEN




         

STEVE KETTELEY is a highly-regarded regulatory adviser to the global gambling industry. He heads the Betting and Gaming Team at Wiggin LLP in London and is trusted by many of the industry’s leading operators and suppliers to help them navigate the challenges they face. Steve advises operators on their interactions with regulators, helps industry participants construct and manage jurisdictional risk, and guides stakeholders in assessing and mitigating risk, generally, that attaches to their participation in the gambling space.

         

ALAN LITTLER, a Partner with Kalff Katz & Franssen, focuses on work for remote gambling operators and adjacent activities, such as social gaming. He also advises those providing services to the sector, e.g. payment services providers, and covers regulatory developments in the lottery and casino markets. Current interests include issues concerning data protection and privacy around gambling. Alan has a strong academic background in European law, holding a LL.M. (cum laude) in European Community Law from Leiden University, and moreover having been awarded his PhD from Tilburg University for research on the regulation of gambling and EU law. 


 

         

DIANE MULLENEX is a dual-qualified French lawyer and UK Solicitor, heading the international telecom and gaming & gambling practices. She specialises in and has extensive experience advising a wide range of clients in telecommunications, technology and other highly regulated industries, such as gaming and gambling.




         

ALLA SEREBRIANSKAIA joined Asensi Abogados in 2011 and has been a partner of the firm since September 2017. Previously, she worked in house at Indra Sistemas SA, Spain’s premier IT company. Alla graduated in Law at the ESADE Business School (Barcelona) from where she was also awarded a Master’s in Business Law. She specializes in Gaming & Gambling law, is an expert in licensing procedures, regulatory and compliance related both to online and land-based operators. 

         

SIMON THOMAS Executive Chairman and majority shareholder of Hippodrome Casino Limited, the extensive leisure casino complex in Leicester Square that is the West End’s premier entertainment venue employing over 820 people and entertaining over 32,000 customers a week. Simon is also chairman of the UK casino industry section of the Betting and Gaming Council and a director of the European Casino Association. He was also a trustee of Gamcare from 2007 to 2019. Simon's various roles have led to high level involvement with the United Kingdom's Government, MPs, the Gambling Commission, DCMS and HMT.

         

DAVID WHYTE is a Partner at Harris Hagan in London. Before joining the firm in 2019, he held various legal roles within industry and spent nearly a decade working in enforcement and legal roles at the British Gambling Commission, providing him with a unique insight into the regulatory framework in Great Britain Specialising in all aspects of online and land-based gambling law, he advises on regulatory investigations, operating and personal licence reviews, compliance assessments, developing associated remedial compliance programmes and action plans, general compliance and reporting requirements, and more.
