EX-OFFICIO members of the Board of Trustees are IAGA officers who served as President. Following his or her term as President, the officer serves ex-officio for an additional three fiscal years.


 

Tommy Shepherd President 2013-2014 TOMMY SHEPHERD is a partner in the Business and Commercial Transactions Practice Group of Jones Walker LLP. Tommy represents major casino companies, manufacturers, suppliers, and financial institutions regarding all matters relating to the development, financing, licensing and operation of gaming and resort facilities. His extensive experience in such matters includes public-private leases, financings, land use approvals, statutory and regulatory interpretation and compliance, gaming operations, and administrative hearings. He regularly serves on panels and speaks at national and international gaming conferences. Mr. Shepherd’s clients include many of the largest gaming operators and gaming equipment manufacturers and suppliers in the world, as well as major private equity and investment banking firms and large commercial lenders involved in secured and unsecured lending, debt offerings and bond offerings in connection with the development of various gaming projects.


Julian Harris JULIAN HARRIS is recognized as a leading expert in national and international gambling and licensing law and is highly regarded by both operators and regulators throughout the world. He and John Hagan are the founder partners of Harris Hagan, the first and only UK law firm specialising exclusively in legal services to the gambling and leisure industries.  He, John and other members of the firm have been at the forefront of advising UK and international operators alike on the opportunities presented by the UK Government’s major reform of gambling law. With over 25 years experience Julian has advised some of the world's largest gaming and entertainment industry corporations as well as governments, trade associations and private equity houses in both online and land based gaming. Julian came to specialise in this area representing the Gaming Board for Great Britain (the then UK regulator) for five years early in his career.


Marc Rubinstein MARC H. RUBINSTEIN is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Affinity Gaming, a public gaming company based in Las Vegas that owns and operates 12 casinos in four states and provides consulting services to an additional casino resort in Las Vegas.  In his position Mr. Rubinstein has responsibility for all of the legal and regulatory affairs of the company, and oversees the risk management, benefits and compliance functions.  Mr. Rubinstein previously served for more than 18 years as a senior executive and general counsel of Tropicana Entertainment Inc., the Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino, Wynn Resorts, Limited, and the Nevada properties of Caesars World, Inc.–Caesars Palace, Caesars Tahoe and The Desert Inn.


Gavin Isaacs

GAVIN ISAACS was appointed to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Scientific Games in June 2014. In this role, Mr. Isaacs is focused on improving the Company’s performance and growth through the development of innovative products and services to help lottery and gaming customers grow their businesses, the completion of the WMS integration, and enhancing stockholder value. Mr. Isaacs is an accomplished gaming industry executive with more than 15 years of leadership experience. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of SHFL entertainment Inc. from April 2011 through November 2013 when the company was acquired by Bally Technologies. Previously, Mr. Isaacs served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Bally Technologies from 2006 through 2011. Prior to joining Bally Technologies, he held senior roles at Aristocrat Leisure Limited, including Head of Global Marketing and Business Development, Managing Director of Aristocrat’s London-based European subsidiary and President of Aristocrat Technologies, Inc., Aristocrat’s Las Vegas-based subsidiary.
